    Darrell Hall made the playoffs in his first three seasons at Star Spencer.

    When new Harrah football coach Greg Willis sends his Panthers on the field at McLoud for the season opener on Aug. 31, the Panthers will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games in a row.
  •  OU Heisman winners Sims and White to be honored
    Ceremonies unveiling the final two of four Heisman Trophy winner’s heroic-size bronze statues at the University of Oklahoma’s Heisman Park will precede the school’s first two football games in September, officials said.
  • EastOC district assignments
    The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association met on Aug. 8 and ratified district football assignments for the 2008-2009 season.
  •  Jones faces hefty opponents again
    Larry Lewis will have a large group of returning starters as he begins his second season as head coach of the Jones Longhorns.
  •  Choctaw looks to finish off games
    The Choctaw Yellowjackets are still looking to get in the playoffs since the 1980s, and the past several years they’ve been in many games with a chance to do so.
  •  Warehime steps in at Del City
    Jeff Craig resigned as the head Del City football coach before school was out last spring and assistant Nick Warehime, who possesses 26 years coaching experience, stepped in to fill the void.
  •  Bombers have returned to postseason
    The Bombers got back to the postseason after a a four-year drought and second-year head coach Steve Huff feels his Midwest City troops will ride that momentum from last year.
  •  Titans at the top again
    The Titans, who now possess nine school state titles, are the defending state champions after defeating Lawton MacArthur 14-10 in December for the Class 5A crown.
