The King and His Court

The King and His Court are coming to town on Monday to play Midwest City players in fastpitch softball to benefit American Legion Post 170 baseball.

The King and His Court, the original 4-man softball team, will take on nine players from the area including former Midwest City High School wrestling coach Mike Clark and current Harrah wrestling coach Darryl Clark.

Eddie Feigner, known as the King who compiled an 11,125-1,072 pitching record with only four players against a full field, stopped pitching in 1998. He is now in his 80s. Feigner also has fired 930 career no-hitters and whiffed over 8,500 hitters while blindfolded. His career strikeout mark stands at 141,517.

Ironically, Midwest City’s Lelan Clark, who is the father of Darryl and Mike, defeated Feigner in a pitching duel at All Sports Stadium back in 1979.

The game will be contested at Regional Park in Midwest City Monday on Sanderson Field beginning at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for students, $10 for adults and $25 for a whole family. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the berm overlooking the field in addition to bleacher seating.

Though the legendary Feigner will not be pitching, the King and His Court’s hurler will perform the same tricks that Feigner performed, such as pitching blindfolded, pitching from second base, between his legs and behind his back.
