J.D. McGhee

J.D. McGhee, 74, of Spencer, passed away Nov. 26, 2006, in Midwest City. He was born April 28, 1932, in Oklahoma City to A.C. and Hattie McGhee. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a decorated Korean War veteran. he was an active member of the Midwest City American Legion and VFW. He later retired as a brick mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Melanie Jackson, Patricia Yarrish and Margaret Berglund; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and his best friend, Phil Bittichs. A celebration of J.D.’s life was held at noon Dec. 1 at the American Legion Midwest City post. Services were under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.



Cindy L. Daniels

Cindy L. Daniels, 43, of Oklahoma City, died Nov. 28, 2006. She was born April 30, 1963, in Lincoln, Neb. to Bobby and Barbara Whitlock. Daniels is survived by her husband, Kenneth Daniels; three daughters, Amanda Lynn, Andrea Lee and Angelica Ashley; her parents; four sisters, Lori Lynn Whetstine, Debra Sue Whitesell, Catherine Hall and Joanne Whitlock; a brother, Michael Whitlock; a sister-in-law, Sue Satterfield; and numerous other relatives. She served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as a jet engine mechanic, loved animals, doll collecting and was Neil Diamond’s No. 1 fan. Services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at Candlewood Chapel. They were conducted by Ford Funeral Service with full military honors.



Anna Mae Reinhart

Anna Mae Reinhart, 89, was born July 17, 1917, in Luther. The daughter of Lige and Catherine (Afinowicz) Baranski, she passed away Nov. 28, 2006, in Harrah. Reinhart attended Harrah schools where she played basketball and sang in the school choir. After graduating from Harrah High School in 1936, she went to California to visit, and while she was there met her husband. She married Louis Paul Reinhart June 5, 1936, in Los Angeles. She lived in California until 1988 when she moved back to Oklahoma. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Rosary Society, enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts and art work, playing poker and ballroom dance. Reinhart was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Pauline Roper of Los Angeles; and many other family members. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Harrah. Father Alan Loth officiated. Burial followed at St. Teresa’s Catholic Cemetery in Harrah. Services were under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah. A guest book is available at www.smithparks.com.



John Patrick ‘Pat’ Dunn

John Patrick “Pat” Dunn, 91, of Newalla, passed away Nov. 29, 2006. He was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Hobart and lived in Oklahoma most of his life. He married Oleen McEntire May 12, 1946. He was a cowboy and the oldest living stockman of the Oklahoma City Stockyards. He is survived by a son, Jack Dunn; two daughters, Jana Pierson and Vicki Bly; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife. Services are pending.



Albert Newton Goodman

Albert Newton Goodman, 79, of Choctaw, passed away Nov. 29, 2006. He was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Inola. He was married to Maureen Goodman, and he attended the Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Choctaw Roundup Club, American Legion, VFW, Tinker Retired Mixed Bowling League and Happy Tracks Square Dance Club. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; a son, Roger and wife Joanne; a daughter, Ellen; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. Funeral services are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour N.E. Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.



Orla Vern ‘Tubby’ Thornton Sr.

Orla Vern “Tubby” Thornton Sr., 66, of Harrah, was born July 6, 1940, in Harrah, the son of Robert and Henryetta (Sweeney) Thornton. He passed away Nov. 29, 2006, in Midwest City. He was a drywall subcontractor. Vern was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jaunita P. (Meadows) Thornton; and two brothers. He is survived by two sons, Vern Thornton Jr. and wife Kim of Jones and Alfred Thornton of Midwest City; three daughters, Mary Thomas and husband William of Venus, Texas, Bessie Perkins and husband Bobby Sr. of Oklahoma City, and Candy Sitton of Midwest City; a sister, Olive Miller of Harrah; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel in Harrah with the Rev. Tommy Mosher officiating. Burial followed at the Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City. Services were under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah. A guest book is available at www.smithparks.com.



Mae Watts

Mae Watts passed away Nov. 29, 2006, in Oklahoma City. She was born in Missoula, Mont. May 22, 1921, to Clayton and Margaret Cau. Her family moved to Seattle, and in 1944 she married Edward Watts and moved to Chickasha. Soon afterwards, Edward and Mae moved their family to Del City. Watts is survived by her two sons, Ed Watts and wife Ruth of Edmond, and Richard Watts and wife Pam of Edmond; a daughter, Sharon Quirk of Denver; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service.



Lyle R. Boutwell

Lyle R. Boutwell, of Del City, passed away Nov. 31, 2006. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Clara and Wayne Holloway and the youngest of two. He is survived by his wife, Bette Boutwell of Del City; a stepdaughter, Marla Stevens of Del City; two sons, Dennis Boutwell of Tulsa and Kenny Boutwell of Bristow; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin Boutwell; and a stepdaughter, Joy Murphy. Boutwell served honorably in the U.S. Army. Over the years, he worked as district manager for Leaseway Transportation, account manager for Ryder Truck Rental; and owned A-Marketing Insurance Company. He was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City and a longtime member of the Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce in Del City. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. Rev. Bill Spain officiated.



Aiyanna Marie Barber

Aiyanna Marie Barber, infant daughter of Lisa Kay Arredondo and James F. Barber IV, was born Oct. 29, 2006, in Amarillo, Texas and passed away Dec. 1, 2006, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She was 1 month and 2 days old. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Kenneth and Lydia Nickell and Roberto Arrendondo. Aiyanna is survived by her father, James F. Barber IV of Elgin; her mother, Lisa Kay Arredondo of Granite; her grandparents, Marie (Nickell) Arredondo of Granite; an aunt, Linda Marie Arredondo, of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandparents, Rita and Chuck Ballard, of Walters, and James F. Barber III and Alicia Barber of Elgin; her aunts and uncles, Lacy and Dustin Hill of Elgin, and Kasey, Tristan and Chance Barber of Elgin; and many other relatives. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Lone Wolf. Lowell Kirby officiated. Burial took place Granite City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home.



James Orlando Russo

James Orlando Russo, 75, of Midwest City, died Dec. 1, 2006, at the V.A. Center in Norman. James was born June 3, 1931, in New York City, the son of Oliver and Joana Araujo. He was a retired master sargeant in the U.S. Air Force. James was preceded in death by his wife, June; and his parents. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Pattye Swords of Midwest City; a stepson, Paul Swords and wife Carol of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Maria Oliviana Araujo-Seixas of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and other relatives. A Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Full military honors were shown at 2 p.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa. Services were under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.



Elmer Ray Parker

Elmer Ray Parker, 70, of Del City, passed away Dec. 2, 2006, in Oklahoma City. Parker was born April 5, 1936, in Whittier, Calif., to Richard and Ruth (Morgan) Parker. He was the last of 10 children. He married Goldie (Gigi) G. Geisel in Oceanside, Calif. Sept. 8, 1954. Much of his earlier life was spent in the different military services. He retired in Del City and lived there for the last 34 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the last 27 years. He and Gigi were especially close to a niece, Pat, who he grew up with. He introduced Pat to Ernie who is now her husband. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Darla Doyle and husband Trent of Blackwell; a son, Mark Parker and wife Chris of Valrico, Fla.; three sisters, Dorothy Gibbs of Joplin, Mo., Lorraine Cooper of Oklahoma City and Clara Monticue of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building in Midwest City. Burial will be with full military honors at Worley Cemetery. Services were under Ford Funeral Service.



Glenna Sue Ross

Glenna Sue Ross, born May 6, 1950, passed away Dec. 2, 2006. Ross was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline Combs; a sister, Pat Bryan; and a great-grandson. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, U.S. Army veteran, Donnal Ross; a son, James Ross; a daughter, Donna Stovall, a brother, James Combs; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, under the direction of Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home.



Frances Maxine Smith

Frances Maxine Smith, 74, of Midwest City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006. She was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to John and Ola Weathers. She grew up in northwest Texas. She married Carl Smith March 1, 1952. In Oklahoma City, she worked as a telephone operator at Opal’s Telephone Answering Service. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd Reynolds Weathers Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Elizabeth Weathers. She is survived by a sister, Joyce Martin; a brother-in-law, John Martin; six children, James Lynn Smith, Vicky June Harrell, David Glenn Smith, RaeDel Louise Smith, Gloria Jayne Schratwieser and husband Ed, and Mark Alan Smith and wife Deborah; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many others. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Services were under the direction of Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home.



Dolores Mae Suggs

Dolores Mae Suggs died Dec. 2, 2006, in Midwest City. She was born May 25, 1924, in Bartlesville, to Andy and Kate Ayling. She married Olan Suggs Oct. 30, 1941, and shared 52 happy years together. She was a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Deeda McBride and husband Ray of Midwest City; a son, Terry Suggs and wife Harriet of Mustang; a sister, Mary Ann Wiley of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many others. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Jack, Jimmy and Bill; and a daughter, Nancy Field. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Contributions may be made to Portland Avenue Baptist Church Forward By Faith Campaign. Services are under the direction of Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
