Mark I. Lewis
Mark I. Lewis, 51, passed away Nov. 23, 2006. Mark is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lewis; three stepsons, Billy Smith, Steele Smith and Kenneth Smith; his parents, Don and Shirley Lewis; two brothers, Kevin and Craig Lewis; a cousin, Dave Hall; and five grandchildren. Lewis worked for General Motors for 30 years. He was residing in Michigan at the time of death. He left many friends and co-workers behind. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Dec. 2, 2006, in the Douglas Boulevard United Methodist Church. Viewing took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.
Julia Ann Wall
Julia Ann Wall, 71, of Harrah, was born May 20, 1935, in Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of Joe and Mary (Manek) Erbin. Wall left this life Nov. 26, 2006, in Midwest City. A 1953 Harrah High School graduate, she retired in 1976, after 22 years with Southwestern Bell. She loved watching her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Erbin. She is survived by her mother, Mary Erbin of Harrah; two sons, Robby Wall of Harrah, and Jeff Wall and wife Roxanna of Harrah, a sister, Betty Vinson of Harrah; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A Trisagion was held 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jones. Services were at 10 a.m. Dec. 1, 2006, at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jones with Father Raphael officiating. The burial followed at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Harrah. Velma L. Green
Velma L. Green, 87, of Midwest City, passed away Nov. 27, 2006. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting and cooking. She is survived by a daughter, Janice M. Dansby and her life partner, Robert D. Baron of Oklahoma City; a son, John Green of Ann Arbor, Mich.; special friends, Lynelle Clawson and Dianne Rhoades; a brother, Lonnie King of Peoria, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Amazona Roberts of Tennessee; and her dog, Dolly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cletus; and five brothers and sisters. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 2, 2006, at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.
Bradley J. Mitchell
Bradley J. Mitchell, 24, of Newalla, was born Oct. 8, 1982, in Shawnee. He was the son of Bryan Jeffery and Mindy Lea (Michael) Mitchell. Brad died in his sleep the morning of Nov. 27, 2006, while visiting relatives in Oelwein, Iowa. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in McLoud, where he was baptized and served as an altar person. He graduated from McLoud High School in 2001. He was employed at Convergy’s Customer Call Center in Moore. Mitchell enjoyed comic books, Star Wars, superheroes and sci-fi movies. He was an avid reader. He was in the drama club in high school where he was the first to qualify for state in debate. He participated in plays at Rose State College. He loved to debate politics or anything else he felt strongly about. Mitchell was preceded in death by his great-grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Mindy Mitchell of Newalla; a sister, Mariah Mitchell of Newalla; his maternal grandparents, Allen and Lou Michael of McLoud; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Pat Mitchell of Shawnee; his maternal great-grandmother, Agnes Michael of Oelwein, Iowa; a maternal uncle and aunts; a paternal uncle and aunt; and many relatives and friends. A wake service was held at 7 p.m. Dec. 1, 2006, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in McLoud. Mass of Christian Burial was at 1 p.m. Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in McLoud. Father Eugene Marshall officiated. Burial followed at Dale Cemetery, in Dale. Maxine “Louise” Orr
Maxine “Louise” Orr, 75, passed away after a long illness Nov. 27, 2006. The formal visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. Services to celebrate her life were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Spencer United Methodist Church. She was born Oct. 17, 1931, to Robert E. and Iva J. Runkle in Mulhall. She was married to Billy H. Orr Aug. 4, 1949. They had four children. They were longtime Spencer residents and faithful members of Spencer United Methodist Church, upon her husband’s retirement from the Air Force. She retired from Federal Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base. She enjoyed those moments spent with her family and grandchildren. She had a deep abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She loved shopping, was caring, compassionate, forgiving, loving, friendly and outgoing. Orr was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters, Loretta Cullers, June Phelps, Betty Stringer and Nora Palmer; and unnamed twin infant brothers. She is survived by four children, Pam Linsenmeyer and husband Wayne of Hurst, Texas, Della Jane Orr of Spencer, Billy Jr. Orr and wife Pam of Luther, and Debra Huckaby of Newalla; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and four half-sisters, Lorene Fussel, Maude Goodrich, Lena Mae Penrod and Lora Mae Barton.
Virgil Isabell
Virgil Isabell was born to Odus and Edna Isabell June 24, 1925, in Henryetta. After the death of his father, the family moved to the Barnes community, where Virgil attended school. Later they moved to the Spencer area, where he finished his elementary education at Star School. At age 15, he began to drive an oil field truck. He was drafted into the United States Army and spent most of his term in Germany. He later went to Wyoming and worked for the county there. After he retired, he and his wife Mary settled in Owasso, where he spent his final days. He always loved horses and competing in rodeos. He rode broncos, bulls and roped. In his later years, he excelled in head and heel roping. He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather, three brothers, a sister and a step sister. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Danny Isabell of Phoenix; a stepson, James Hansen; a stepdaughter, Maxine Gonzales, of Idaho; three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren; a sister, Wanda Davis of Spencer; a stepsister, Evelyn Smith of Vici; and other relatives and friends, many of whom shared his love of a cowboy’s life.
