Debra Lyn Kellison
Debra Lyn Kellison, 59, died Aug. 16, 2007 in Oklahoma City. Services were 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at Del City Church of Christ. Burial followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Services were conducted by Ford Funeral Service. She was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Beloit, Kan., to Kearney H. Percival and Dora Lee Cooper. She graduated from Simpson High School in Simpson, Kan., in 1966 and attended North Central Kansas Vo-Tech in Beloit, Kan. She married Donald L. Kellison July 18, 1980, in Gainesville, Texas. She was employed by Tinker Air Force Base and was a member of the Midwest City Baseball Association. She was preceded in death by her father, Kearney H. Percival; her mother, Dora Lee Hirsch; and a son, Ted Kellison. She is survived by her husband, Donald Kellison; two sons, Boyd Pearson of Midwest City and Dale Pearson and wife Missy of Broken Arrow; a daughter, Karen Jenkins and husband Charlie of Midwest City; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kellison of Norman; her father, Fred Hirsch of Simpson, Kan.; a sister, Marjorie “Cathy” Freeman and husband Royce of Abilene, Kan.; three brothers, Gary Percival and wife Kathy of Salina, Kan., Fred Hirsch and wife Pat of Glasco, Kan., Steve Hirsch and wife Anita of Oberlin, Kan.; her grandmother, Marjorie Martin of Glasco, Kan.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Mary L. Butler
Mary L. Butler, 77, passed away Aug. 17, 2007, in Midwest City. She was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Welch to Clarence and Virgie Fisher. She loved flowers and gardens and her dogs. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Evalynne Lawrence and her husband Bob, Pete Wiemers and his wife Linda and Mike Wiemers and his wife Dorothy; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Candlewood Chapel, under the direction of Ford Funeral Service. Burial followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Dorotha Dean Ellzey
Dorotha Dean Ellzey, 78, passed away Aug. 18, 2007. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast. She retired from Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard N. Ellzey Sr.; one son, George H. Ellzey; and one sister, Maxine King. She is survived by two daughters, Nola D. Ellzey of Del City and Elizabeth A. Ellzey of Nicoma Park; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ellzey of Midwest City; two grandchildren; and a niece. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Midwest City Mobile Meals, 1313 S. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, OK 73110.
Julie Amanda (Langston) Smith
Julie Amanda (Langston) Smith, 34, died Aug. 19, 2007, at her home in Mesquite, Texas. Services were 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Candlewood Chapel. Services were under the direction of Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City. There was a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 in Centerville, Tenn., where she will be laid to rest beside her mother, Patricia (Reece) Langston who passed away 1973. She was the loving mother of 4-year-old Benjamin Smith and wife of Derek Smith. She was also the beloved daughter of O. Lynn and Debbie Langston and caring sister of Phillip, Victoria and Emily Ransford, all of the Oklahoma City area. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and dear friends and family throughout the country. She graduated as a valedictorian from Midwest City High School in 1991 and attended the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in 1994, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honors. She went on to enjoy a successful career in the Dallas, Texas, area. She enjoyed painting and providing loving care for her son, Benjamin, who was the true light of her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice.
Evelyn Ruth Whomble
Evelyn Ruth Whomble passed away Aug. 19, 2007. A graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 S.W. 104th St., Oklahoma City. She was born in Mangum, Feb. 16, 1928, and married Dale Raymond Whomble Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1971. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son, David Whomble and wife Mary Beth of Midwest City; two daughters, Gale Steele and husband Jeff and Kathy Osborn and husband Jesse, all of Del City; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and a step-granddaughter; four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a great-granddaughter, Abigayle Patten; her parents, Carl and Gladys Cooper; and a brother, Robert Cooper.
Lorene Lundy
Lorene Lundy, 83, passed away Aug. 20, 2007. Services were 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. She was born May 7, 1924, to Bert and Lucille Schultz in Oklahoma City. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth. She and her husband established Lundy’s Propane Gas Co. in 1956. She is also survived by her son, Jay Lundy and wife Kay of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Loretta Baker and husband Ron of Choctaw; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Gavin Tiefel.
LaVerne Emholtz
LaVerne Emholtz, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Aug. 21, 2007, at the age of 72. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home. Interment followed at Rossville Cemetery, near her home in Meeker. A visitation was 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast. She was born LaVerne Noble on April 29, 1935, in Oklahoma City. She married Richard Emholtz in Gainesville, Texas, Aug. 9, 1952 and worked in Oklahoma City at the Wilson Meat Packing Plant for 18 years. She and her husband moved to Meeker in 1967. She was known as an excellent homemaker and cook, who greatly enjoyed country music and playing card games and Scrabble with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Noble; two brothers, Kenneth and Billy Noble; and two sisters, Helen Craig and Norma Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; and four children, Donna Lowber and husband Tom of Meeker, Richard Emholtz Jr. and wife Vicki of Bridge Creek, Casey Emholtz and wife Alecia of Meeker and Robert Emholtz and wife Connie of Shawnee; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Jack Bull
Jack Bull, 78, of Harrah passed away Aug. 20, 2007. He was born Aug. 9, 1929 in Knoxville, Ark. He was a truck driver. Services were held 10 a.m. Friday at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Chapel. He was buried at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy of the home; and other family members and friends.
Thetus H. Bright
Thetus H. Bright, 90, of Midwest City, passed away Aug. 21, 2007. He was born Feb. 9, 1917 in Jenk Jones, W.Va. He served in the United State Air Corps and worked as an electronics technician in the aircraft field, before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean (Lowe) Bright of the home; two sons; and other family members and friends. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
