Orion Kenneth Hunt
Orion Kenneth Hunt passed away June 30, 2007. The funeral was conducted by Ford Funeral Service 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Brotherton officiated. Full military honors followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. He was born March 8, 1917, at Mammoth Springs, Ark., to John Fisher Hunt and Iuka (Woodall) Hunt. The family moved from Arkansas to Oklahoma where his family was in the grocery business in Weleetka, Henryetta, Konowa and Seminole. He joined the Army during World War II, the same day his brother, Capt. John F. Hunt Jr. was killed defending the Philippine Islands. He was a Scout in the 90th Infantry Division. He was wounded at the Saar River near the Siegfried line in Germany. He received the Purple Heart, Silver Service Star and five major battle stars. He was awarded the Croix De Guerre Avec Etoile De Bronze from the French Government and the Bronze Arrowhead. He graduated from Seminole High School as part of his military service. He was a Charter Member of St. Matthew United Church of Midwest City, was a lifetime Democrat and a proud supporter of the Lyle Boren family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Joe B., Woody, John Jr. and Ernest. He is survived by his niece, Jo Ann Hunt of Ada; and his nephew, John R. “Bob” Hunt of Oklahoma City. The family wishes to thank the Coronary Care Unit at Midwest Regional Medical Center for their loving care and asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the St. Matthew United Methodist Church Youth Program.
Patricia Marion White
Patricia Marion White, 72, of Oklahoma City died June 28, 2007, at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Visitation will be July 4 and July 5. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. July 6 at Barnes & Johnson. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dickson Baptist Church in Spencer. She was born March 13, 1935, in Tauramanui, New Zealand, the daughter of John Frances Patrick and Gladys Marion (Hayes) Carey. She is survived by two brothers, Jack Carey of Sydney, Australia, and Brian Carey of Auckland, New Zealand; a son, Michael L. White of Oklahoma City; and a daughter, Susan K. Dolney of Bowie, Md.; and four grandchildren. She is a longtime member of Dickson Baptist Church in Spencer.
