Arthur Burl Puett

Arthur Burl Puett passed away April 26, 2007. Services were 10 a.m. June 25 at Candlewood Chapel, under the direction of Ford Funeral Service. Burial followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery. In his memory, friends are asked to donate to the American Heart Association. He was born to James and Edna Puett April 26, 1922, in Texas. He married Margarette Louise Kramer Puett Aug. 1, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., before shipping out on a Naval aircraft carrier for four years of duty in the Pacific Rim during World War II. The couple had two sons. His wife passed away July 27, 1994 and was laid to rest Aug. 1, 1994, the day of their 52nd anniversary. He married Virginia High Puett Feb. 9, 1995. She passed away in March 2007. He spent his working life, until his retirement in the ‘90s, in the grocery business. He managed Brannon’s Grocery Stores in Midwest City and Del City. He also managed and owned Stockton’s Grocery Store in Midwest City. He dearly loved his family, his dogs, golf and his longtime friends. His faith sustained him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eula Thomas; and by his parents. He is survived by two sons, Burl Don Puett and his wife Glenda of Broken Arrow and Tim Allen Puett and his wife Jennifer of Cordell; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.



Delmer A. Heck

Delmer A. Heck, 73, began his new life in Heaven on Saturday, June 16, 2007, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Donations may be made to the Oklahoma Childrens’ Cancer Association, P.O. Box 26292, Oklahoma City, OK, 73143. Delmer was born March 29, 1934, in Cromwell, Okla., to Cecil and Adelia Heck. Delmer was a Christian and gave his life to God as a young boy. He graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1953. He earned a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Lynn, Aug. 31, 1957, at Forest Park Baptist Church. Delmer was proud of his 32 year career as a teacher, coach and high school counselor with the Mid-Del school system. However, his greatest pride and accomplishments were in his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and some of his favorite times were spent hunting, fishing and gardening. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and spent lots of time with them teaching many life lessons along the way. Delmer was a warm-hearted kind soul and always willing to share a laugh or lend a hand to others. Our lives are richer for having known him and we will love and miss him always. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Adelia; and two brothers, Daniel and Elmer Heck. Delmer is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; daughters, Lori and husband Mohamed El-Bakoush of Moore and Janna and husband Mark Jahansouz of Midwest City; granddaughters, Jenan El-Bakoush and Chelsie Jahansouz; grandsons, Cyraj El-Bakoush and Justin Jahansouz; one brother, Marvin and wife Kathy of Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.



Delores Schulz

Delores Schulz, 79, of Nicoma Park passed away June 25, 2007. Services will be under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast. Services will be held in Wisconsin. She was a homemaker.



Ethel Carr

Ethel Carr, 90, passed away June 21, 2007 after battling COPD, heart, and kidney problems. She was born in Medart, Fla. on Jan. 31, 1917. She married Melvin W. Carr, Sr. on Sept. 14, 1937. They spent their first 63 years together in South Carolina before moving to Midwest City to be near their daughter. She is survived by her husband, Melvin; a son, Melvin Jr. (Anne); a daughter, Barbara (Wes); three granddaughters; a grandson; three great grandsons; and two great granddaughters. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City. Services were under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.



Sandie Kay (Prayton) Brown

Sandie Kay (Praytor) Brown born on Oct. 5, 1957 in Los Angeles, Calif. passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007. She was raised and resided in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Betty Praytor, and two brothers, Ron Praytor and David Praytor. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Brown; two sons, David Kringlen and Daniel Longley; a daughter, Destiny Brown; two grandchildren; a brother Floyd Praytor; a sister and brother-in-law, Tom and Debbie Sanders; her father and mother-in-law, Dale and Leota Brown; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Mike and Roberta Henderson; and other family and friends too numerous to mention. Services were held 2 p.m. Monday, June 25 at Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery.



Opal Marie Buser

Opal Marie Buser, wife of 61 years to Paul Buser and loving mother, passed away June 24, 2007, at Midwest Regional Hospital. Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to the Alzheimer’s Foundation for further research. She enjoyed taking care of her home, family, sewing and her beauty shop visits. After her husband’s retirement, they enjoyed their lake home in Crescent. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy McCoy; and a brother, Ralph Miller. She is survived by her husband, Paul William Buser; three daughters, Kathy Phillips of Yukon, Pamela Kay Doss of Terlton and Linda Ann Donahoo of Crescent; a son, Paul William Buser Jr. of Del City; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Trent of Yukon and Mary Bradford of California; two brothers, Robert Miller of Oklahoma City and Wayne Miller of Geary; and a host of nieces and nephews.
