Pauline Foust

Pauline Foust, 95, passed away May 8, 2007, in Topeka, Kan. A cremation took place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born Oct. 17, 1911, in McLoud to Thomas and Luella Hamilton Scholes. She was a longtime resident of Del City and moved to Topeka in 2003, after her husband, Charlie, died. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Carter Park Church of Christ in Del City. She and Charlie were married Dec. 17,1927, in Newkirk and made their home in Del City in 1954. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 21, 2002; and three grandsons. She is survived by a sister, Irene Diel; four children, Betty Widner and husband Ray of Topeka, Kan., Kenneth Foust and wife Lois of Midwest City, Charlotte Foust of Topeka, Kan., and Bill Foust and wife Donna of Midwest City; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.



William C. ‘Bill’ Neely

William C. “Bill” Neely, 82, of Midwest City died May 12, 2007. Services were conducted by Ford Funeral Service at 2 p.m. May 17 in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. Burial followed at Arlington Memory Gardens. He was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Enid, the son of William and Bessie Neely. He attended The University of Oklahoma until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served active duty in World War II on the USS Karnes in the Pacific. He met and married Anna Ruth July 20, 1947. They shared 60 years together until she passed away just before Christmas. They had two children, William O. Neely and Sherlyn Ann Pope; and two grandchildren. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He took a home-study course and taught himself to repair televisions. He built a shop in his backyard and operated his TV repair shop from his home.



Oscar Loyd Ellis

Oscar Loyd Ellis, 87, of Isabella passed away May 14, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. Funeral services were May 19 at the First Baptist Church of Fairview. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. The Reverends David Mendenhall and Nathan Twyman officiated. Arrangements were by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. He was born June 28, 1919, in Isabella, to Ira and Sarah Elizabeth (Oxley) Ellis. He was raised in Isabella and graduated from Okeene High School. He held several jobs, including working at Cohlmia’s Store in Fairview. He married Dorothy Irene Pool Nov. 3, 1940, in Fairview. Ellis served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He served on the USS St. Mary at the battle of Iwo Jima. He was involved in custom combining and road construction with his brother-in-law’s firm, Pool Construction. He went into the restaurant business with his wife Dorothy. They owned the Dairy Queen in Del City from 1957 to 1967 and the Linda Jane Drive In in Shawnee. They sold the businesses and returned to the farm in Isabella and bought a restaurant in Fairview. They renamed it “Queen’s Kitchen” and owned it from 1967 to 1978. He operated a restaurant in Okeene. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fairview and was a lifetime member of the American Legion King Hagen Post 51 and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Ellis; three sisters, Ruth Simpson, Edith Sproul and Edna Miller; a grandchild; and a son-in-law. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ellis of Fairview; a son, Jesse Loyd Ellis and wife Kathy of Cypress, Calif.; two daughters, Janice K. Edwards and husband Connie of Oklahoma City and Carolyn V. Houk and husband Joe of Fairview; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairview with Fairview Funeral Home Inc., acting as custodian.



Natalie L. Kintner

Natalie L. Kintner passed away May 14, 2007. Funeral services were 10 a.m. May 19 at Del View Baptist Church. Interment was at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Visitation was 6–8 p.m. Friday at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. She was an active member of Del View Baptist Church in Del City. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Kintner; and one daughter, Floyce Arce. She is survived by three daughters, Norma Hubbell, Marie Cole and Linda Vinson; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requested that donations be made to Cancer Research, Heart Disease and Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children, in lieu of flowers.



Flossie Lorine Baker

Flossie Lorine Baker, 98, passed away May 16, 2007, in Oklahoma City. A viewing was at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. Services were 2 p.m. May 19 at Sunny Lane Chapel in Del City. Burial followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery. She was born April 9, 1909, in Caddo County to Walter and Flora Clemmons. After working at Tinker Air Force Base for a few years, she babysat children who became like family. The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the care she received at Forest Glade Retirement Community, Windsor Hills Nursing Center and Autumn Bridge Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edgar Sturm; her nine siblings; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Herbert of Bethany; two children, Percy Sturm of Meeker and Pat Payne of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.



Nellie Dill

Nellie Dill, 63, passed away May 16, 2007. Funeral services were 10 a.m. May 19 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Burial was at Arlington Memory Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and her mother, Lois Maupin. She is survived by two sons, Frank and Jim Bob Sanders; a daughter, Dewetta Tomacelli; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.



Virginia Goforth-Vickery

Virginia Goforth-Vickery, 66, passed away May 16, 2007. Funeral services were May 21 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. She was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Perkins to Jessie and Jimmie Goff. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sammy Goforth; her second husband, Thomas Vickery; and a sister, Marlene Wood. She is survived by a son, Gary Goforth of Norman; two daughters, Dixie Paschal of Guthrie and Pam Riggle of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Goff and Delbert Goff; two sisters, Glenda Wever and Louise Krueger; and several nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to send prayers and thanks to all the medical staff who took such great care of her.



Florence M. Stewart

Florence M. Stewart passed away May 16, 2007. Funeral services were May 19 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Burial was at Sunny Lane Cemetery. She retired from AT&T and enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, a brother, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.



Bessie Swinford

Bessie Swinford, 85, of Choctaw, passed away May 16, 2007. A graveside service was May 18 at Wellston Cemetery in Wellston. Services were under the direction of Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 14, 1921, to James and Ethel Vickers in Kendrick. She married Harold Swinford May 5, 1945, in Wellston and they made Choctaw their home in 1946. She worked as a seamstress for Guy James Industrial. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Howard, Ernest and Melton. She is survived by her husband, Harold Swinford; two sons, Roy Swinford and wife Carolyn and Ray Swinford and wife Julie; her daughter, Rhonda Swinford; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Ollie King; and two brothers, Jack Vickers and James Vickers.



John Murray Cheatwood

John Murray Cheatwood, 87, passed away after a long illness surrounded by all eight of his children May 17, 2007. Funeral services were 10 a.m. May 21, 2007, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery Edmond. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast. He was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Lexington to John W. and Bertha Cheatwood. He left the farm at 18 to join Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corp. He was sent to Colorado where was a cook and later a truck driver — a career he would enjoy and keep his entire working life. He retired from Transcon Trucking Company in 1982 after many years of hard work and dedication. He was an active member of the Road Runners Club where he and his wife, LaVaughn enjoyed friends and fellowship. He enjoyed baseball with a passion, fishing, woodworking, dogs, his family and listening to his son, Don play the saxophone. He enjoyed visiting, telling a good joke, hearing a good joke, drinking a beer, and bragging about his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a new Christian and will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lecile; two sisters, Elsie Heine and Stella Mosley; a grandson, Brian Plunkett; and a granddaughter, Danielle Bell. He is survived by his wife of many years, Alberta LaVaughn Cheatwood; eight children, Everett, Robert, Donald, John, Sherita, Anita, Dorenda and Julie and their families; a sister, Alma of Ripley, Miss.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Murray P. Clark

Murray P. Clark of Midwest City died May 18, 2007 in his home. His memorial service was Tuesday in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. He was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Fulton, Ky., to Roberta E. and Carlton M. Clark. He attended South Fulton, Tenn., and Murray State College for two years prior to joining the U.S. Air Force. His military service brought him to Tinker Air Force Base. Upon discharge from the Air Force in 1965, he remained at TAFB in a civilian capacity. He was preceded by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Frances; two sons, Bryan T. and Dawnna of Midwest City and Barry M. of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren; five siblings, Bill and Louise Clark of Stilwell, Kan., Carla Feldman of Dunedin, Fla., James of Blue Eye, Mo., Rosemary Chasten of Rapid City, S.D., Charlotte and Jim Walder of Rapid City, S.D.



Steven Don Thomas

Steven Don Thomas, 44, of Moore passed away May 19, 2007. A prayer vigil was held today at Candlewood Chapel in Del City. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. May 24 at St. Paul, The Apostle Catholic Church, in Del City. Both were under the direction of Ford Funeral Service. He was born in Oklahoma City and graduated with honors from Del City High School in 1980. He graduated from nursing school at Rose State College in 1985, becoming a Registered Nurse who took pride in caring for his patients. He served his community as an Registered Nurse at both Integris Southwest and Norman Regional Medical Center for 25 years. He was a loving and devoted family man. He served his church by being an altar server when he was younger, then as a reader, Eucharistic Minister and president of the parish council. He is survived and missed by his wife of 25 years, Rhonda Thomas; two children, Laura Hill and husband Michael and Chris Thomas and wife Robin; a granddaughter; his parents, Don and Shirley Thomas; two sisters, Karen Clark and husband Ralph and Lisa Walker; a niece; two nephews; and numerous others.
