Esther Lorine Rooms
Esther Lorine Rooms, 91, of Oklahoma City went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2007. She was born June 21, 1915, to Forest and Hattie Lundy and was the eldest of eight children. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Candlewood Chapel, under the direction of Ford Funeral Service, 315 S. Sooner Road, in Midwest City. Esther knew the value and importance of working hard and caring for her friends and family. She worked in school cafeterias until her late 70’s, while also ironing, cleaning homes and taking care of others needs. She enjoyed working in her garden, holiday decorating, baking bread, canning goods, sewing and quilting but her favorite hobby was embroidering. She will be long-remembered for her beautiful handmade tablecloths, chicken and noodles, delicious pies and mouth-watering cinnamon rolls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Esther’s name. Esther was the mother of six children, of which three preceded her in death — Deloris, Leo and Clyde. Her three surviving children are Don Rooms of Roby, Texas, Earl Rooms and wife Cindy of Harrah and Mary Boone and husband Frank of Oklahoma City. Esther had 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
