William Dudley Maytubby
William Dudley Maytubby of Midwest City was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Sapulpa and passed away Dec. 9, 2006. Private services conducted by the Rev. Larry Ice of Hilltop Baptist Church were March 27, 2007 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. He worked as the medical lab and X-ray technician for Dr. Nelson and Dr. Randels’ Clinic in Midwest City. He is survived by his longtime friend, Billie Leemaster; three daughters, Suzie, Stephani and Shelli; and a brother, David Maytubby of California. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Marie Byrd Maytubby; his father, Sam W. Maytubby; and a daughter, Sherry.
Lowell J. Bailey
Lowell J. Bailey, 94, of Midwest City, died March 23, 2007. He was an Army officer during World War II and in the Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ollie; and a son, Joe. He is survived by a brother, Bob; a sister, Beth Bowman; a son, David; a daughter, Debbie Spencer; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was March 29 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. Burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home.
Frances Louise Dooley
Frances Louise Dooley, 78, of Del City passed away March 23, 2007. The family received friends March 26. Graveside services under the direction of Ford Funeral Services were March 29 at the Crittendon Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion, Ark. She was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Earle, Ark., the daughter of Clyde and Mabel Bramlett. She worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Oklahoma City area and even received an award from Col. Sanders. She was a member of the Del City First Southern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Bramlett; and a brother, Eugene Bramlett. She is survived by her mother, Mabel Bramlett Wells; three children, Richard Dooley of Oklahoma City, Deborah Ferguson of Harrah and Terry Dooley of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
Leola Emogene Kelly Swearengin
Leola Emogene Kelly Swearengin, 84, was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Prague and passed away March 24, 2007, in Waco, Texas. Funeral services were March 31 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Burial took place at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. A reception followed the service at Don’s Alley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a celebration of her life by giving a Memorial to Providence Foundation (Hospice), 6901 Medical Parkway, Waco, TX, 76712 or a charity of personal choice. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. The daughter of Mary Victoria (Pevehouse) and Kern Riley Kelly, she was a longtime resident of Del City before she and Bob, her husband of 68 years, moved to Waco, Texas, to be with their daughter. She was married to Bob L. Swearengin Oct. 15, 1938 in Chandler. She was the principal’s secretary of Sooner Rose, Tinker and Parkview elementary schools. She was a member of Carter Park Baptist Church and First Southern Baptist Church of Del City and Columbus Avenue Baptist Church of Waco. She is survived by her husband, Bob; three daughters, Bobbie Winkles of Waco, Texas, Kathy Upchurch of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kris Fisher and husband John of San Antonio, Texas; and a son, Michael Swearengin and Joy Caton of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Kelly Wayne Payne-Adams
Kelly Wayne Payne-Adams, 23, passed away March 25, 2007, in Elk City. He was born May 3, 1983, in Oklahoma City to Leonard Adams and Elizabeth Payne. He attended Taft Middle School and continued his education in Lexington. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Payne of the home; his father, Leonard Adams of Pampa, Texas; three brothers, Scott Speer, Randy Payne and Jon Payne; seven sisters, Virginia Kellogg, LeQueta Presson, Lesa Mendonca, Cathey Nichols, Vickey Pendleton, Traci Wood and Lori Bridgens; and many others. Graveside services were March 30 at Kolb Cemetery in Spencer, under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
Ronnie Leon Christopher ‘Chris’
Ronnie Leon Christopher “Chris” passed away March 26, 2007. Funeral services were March 31 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Burial took place at Arlington Memory Gardens. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home. Born July 15, 1943, in Norman, he was raised in Seminole and attended Varnum Schools. He worked in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired as general foreman. He was survived by his wife, Gale; two daughters, Caryl Ridgeway and husband Scott and Anita Michelle Christopher; a son, Ronnie Christopher and wife Amy; six grandsons; and nine siblings, Dortha Means, Nelleta West, Darlene O’Bryant, Sandra Self, Art Christopher, Danny Christopher, James Christopher, Charlie Christopher and Terry Simmons. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.P. and Amy Christopher; a daughter, Amy Kathleen Christopher; and siblings Reba Simmons, Veva Lewis, Colleen Wilhite and Jerry Christopher.
James Franklin Erskine
James Franklin Erskine passed away March 26, 2007. A memorial service was March 30 at First Southern Baptist Church. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. He was born April 19, 1922, in Barada, Neb., to Charles and Iva Erskine. He retired from the Navy after 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a son, Charles of Maryland; two daughters, Iva LaVeau and Barbara Couch of California; a stepson, David Turner of Oklahoma City; a brother, Thomas of Washington; four sisters, Dorothy Ormsby, Bonnie Heetland, Ruth Maddox of Iowa and Virginia Miller of Washington; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Frances.
Leroy Edward Givens
Leroy Edward Givens, 86, was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Ft. Scott, Kan., and passed away March 26, 2007 in Edmond. Graveside services were March 30 at Arlington Memory Gardens. He served in the Army during WWII. He retired as a supervisor in the armature department at Unit Parts Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola “Bo” Elizabeth Givens; two sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by a stepson, George and wife Wilma Shelton of Edmond; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Marjorie “Margie” Lou Gaines
Funeral services for Marjorie “Margie” Gaines, 78, of Midwest City and formerly of Chickasha were March 30, 2007 in the First Christian Church of Cyril. Margie (Detter) Gaines was born Aug. 16, 1928, in El Dorado, Kan., the daughter of Paul and Ella (Morgan) Detter. She went to be with the Lord March 27, 2007, in Midwest City. Margie’s family lived in the Phillips oil field camp housing all of her growing up years. She graduated from Eureka High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Gaines. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had a sunny disposition and was admired so much for her wonderful attitude, even through her illness. She always had a smile on her face, was happy and positive and was a delight to talk to. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; both of her parents; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Ward; one great-grandson, Ben Robert Thomas; and one son-in-law, Vester Ben Baker. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn Baker of Midwest City and Karen and Byron Carr of Ulysses, Kan.; four grandchildren, Cynthia Branstetter and husband Eric, Robbie Thomas and wife Amanda; Trey Baker and Casey Carr and wife Jenni; two great-grandchildren, Dalton Branstetter and Josie May Thomas; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Warren Smith, Dorothy Heavin, Pauline and Donnie Cobb and Colleen and Chuck Whitfield. The family requests memorial donations be made to The American Lung Association at 3160 W. Britton Road, Suite E, Oklahoma City, OK, 73120. Interment was at the Celestial Garden Cemetery in Cyril, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Martin Raymond Mirtz
Martin Raymond Mirtz, 80, of Midwest City passed away March 27, 2007. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Soutast Funeral Home. He was born June 5, 1926, to Jacob and Kathryne (Wildermuth) Mirtz in Sharlow, N.D. A retired physics and chemistry teacher, he served in WW II and Korea. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Midwest City Art Guild and Oklahoma Camera Club. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Mirtz and husband Roger Grosz and Marilyn Mirtz and husband Richard Clay; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Betty Chancellor, Ben Mirtz, Marie Vorderlandwehr, Pat Mirtz and David Mirtz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; and his parents.raised in Seminole and attended Varnum Schools. He worked in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired as general foreman.
