Daniel Wayne Copeland

Daniel Wayne Copeland, 25, was born to Bruce and Phyllis Copeland Dec. 4, 1981 in Oklahoma City. Copeland passed away Dec. 29, 2006. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Amanda; a paternal grandmother, Kay Cowley; his German Shepherd, “Bear”; and many others. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene “Papa” and Rosemary “Mer” Walls, and his paternal grandfather, Clyde Copeland. He was active in his church and had two role models, Brother Bush and Brother Mac. In the past six months, his roommate has been his Uncle Bill, who had become his best friend. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Open Door Baptist Church, 8801 N.E. 13th St. in Midwest City. Burial followed at Arlington Memory Gardens. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home Inc.



Billie Jean Johnson

Billie Jean Johnson, 77, of Midwest City since 1948, passed away Dec. 28, 2006. She was born Dec. 10, 1929 in Dozier, Texas to Ben and Vesta Riley. She married Preston Eugene Johnson on April 20, 1946. Together they shared love and life as one for 60 wonderful years. She was homemaker and member of the Soldier Creek Baptist Church. Johnson is survived by her husband; a sister, Debbie Schiner; four children and their spouses, Ronnie Eugene and Joanne (Jody) Johnson, Gary Don Johnson, Danny Wayne and Pam Johnson, Linda Kaye (Johnson) and Gary Lee Watson; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Ann Riley. Funeral services were held Friday at the Soldier Creek Baptist Church with the burial taking place in Resthaven Cemetery of Oklahoma City. Services were under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.



Eva Mae Poindexter

Eva Mae Poindexter passed away Dec. 29, 2006. Born in Bluffton, Ark., on Feb. 1, 1917, she lived a long and blessed life. She was the second of seven children, and after losing her mother at the young age of seven, she helped raise her four younger siblings. She met Lyle Poindexter at school in Young Gravelly, Ark. and married him in 1934. They moved to Oklahoma and poured their lives into serving the Lord and raising four children, Dennis Poindexter, Joe Poindexter, Hayes Poindexter, and Pauletta Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Warren Lofland and Eva Lofland; and her six siblings. She is survived by all four of her children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Tuesday at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Burial followed at Arlington Memory Gardens. Services under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.



Frances M. Payne

Frances M. Payne, 86, of Del City, passed away Dec. 27, 2006. She was born Sept. 29, 1920 to Robert and Minnie (Pond) Rumfelt in El Reno. Payne grew tomatoes and had a green thumb. She is survived by three children, Edgar Eugene Douglas of Harrah, Robert Newton Douglas and wife Sandra of McKennie, Texas, Kathy Phillips and husband Jim of Edgewood, N.M.; a host of grandchildren; and two children of her heart, Sara Kay Ragland and Abby Ragland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Ray; four sisters; and two brothers. A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel. Burial took place at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home.



Willis “Bill” McGhee

Willis “Bill” McGhee, 72, passed away Dec. 29, 2006. He was born June 17, 1934 in Atmore, Ala. to Ernie Mae and Willis McGhee. Bill and Carrol McGhee were married on May 21, 1973 at the Tinker Air Force Base Chapel. He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. During his military career, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Joint Services Commendation Medal, 2nd Class Psychological Medal from the Republic of South Vietnam, and numerous other unit and campaign service awards. He retired from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education after 13 years of service. McGhee began his association with Air Force Military Affiliate Radio System program in 1954 and was recently appointed as the Region 4 MARS Director. He held a lifetime membership in the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans organizations. He is survived by his wife; five children, Amy Ochs, Timothy Dykes, Kimberly Long, Lisa Morris and Thresa Thompson; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters. Services were held today at 10 a.m. at the Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City.



Wanda Jo Cavenee

Wanda Jo “G. MA” Cavenee died Dec. 29, 2006. She was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Pauls Valley to John and Francis Marrs. Cavenee was retired from Western Electric. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Vern Lee Cavenee; two sons, Jerry Cavenee and wife Denise and Allen Cavenee; a daughter, Marsha Cavenee; a brother, Kenneth Cavenee; two sisters, Maurine and Shirley; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie. The family would like to thank Jeanan McCullough and Hospice of OK County for the compassionate, tender endeavors as her journey came to a close. Graveside services were held this morning at 10 a.m. at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bill Eiesenhour Southeast Funeral Home.



Nina Anthony (Blake) Foley

Graveside services for Nina Anthony (Blake) Foley were held at 2 p.m. today at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Foley was born April 19, 1923 near Verden to Charles Bunyan and Martha May Britt Anthony. She married Norman L. Blake in 1942, then James N. Foley Feb. 26, 1976. Both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Anthony and two sisters, Sylvia Compton and Reba Lunow, both ofOklahoma City. She is survived by her brother, Bill and wife Dolores Anthony of Edmond; a sister-in-law, Colleen Krachel of Pleasantville, Penn.; three stepdaughters: Janet Vance of Dilute, Ga., Bunnie Muse of Mustang and Jackie Milam of Tulsa. She spent many years in the aviation industry before beginning a career as an executive secretary, and retired from Union Bank in Oklahoma City. In her earlier years in Oklahoma City she was an active member and office holder of Oklahoma Hospitality Club, a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, and a volunteer at the old downtown Mercy Hospital. After retirement Nina and Jim moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where she lived until Jim’s death in 1998, then returned to Oklahoma City. Graveside services were conducted by Gary L. Lunow, a nephew.



Wanda Mae Cricklin

Wanda Mae Cricklin was born March 8, 1920 in Dustin to Jackson Scott and Katie Benson. She died Dec. 30, 2006. Cricklin was orphaned at an early age and raised in the Bureau of Indian Affairs boarding school system, graduating from Eufaula Indian Boarding School. Making her own way, she moved to Muskogee where she met and married Joe, her husband of 60 years. She was a life-long Christian and founding member of Fife Memorial Methodist Church of Muskogee. In her later years, she enjoyed attending Indian gospel singings. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dave and Ed Scott. She is survived by her husband; a son, Rick Cricklin and wife Betty of Norman; a daughter, Sandie Weldon and husband Glenn of Midwest City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and an uncle, Thomas Washington of Okmulgee. Services were held at 2 p.m. today at Paylor Dignity Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. Services were under the direction of Paylor Funeral Home.



Angela Christine Joecks

Angela Christine Joecks, 53, passed away Dec. 31, 2006. She was born Oct. 1, 1953 in Thetford, Norfolk, England to Eric Stead and Winefred (Overd) Stead. She married an Air Force sargeant in May, 1972 and traveled the world moving to Oklahoma with her husband in 1979. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Mark; a son, Sean and wife Kim; two daughters Skyler and Stephanie; and six grandchildren. She was loved deeply and will be missed terribly. Services were under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.



Charles Houston Chappell

Charles Houston Chappell, 80, of Midwest City, passed away Jan. 1, 2007. He was born on Sept. 21, 1926 to Charles and Effie Chappell in Havanna, Ark. He moved to Oklahoma at an early age and resided in Warner. He and his family moved to Midwest City in 1953. Chappell became self employed in the automotive service business and was well known and loved by his customers. A longtime member of Country Estates Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; two sisters, Geraldine and Virginia; and numerous half-brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roberta; a son, Don and wife Jolene; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Nathaniel Paul Chappell, of Orlando, Fla. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Country Estates Baptist Church, under the direction of Ford Funeral service, with Dr. Bruce Dane officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 pm Thursday at Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Okla., under the direction of Larry Wilson.



Jimmie Jack Kinney

Jimmie Jack Kinney, 70, passed away Dec. 30, 2006 in Midwest City, where he had been a resident for 36 years. He was born in El Dorado, Kan. to Alvin and Lois (Jones) Kinney on Sept. 17, 1936. He served in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; two half-brothers, Max and Jack King; and a sister, Lois DeMarie. He is survived by a son, Jim Kinney and wife Candi of Midwest City; three daughters, Robin Herrin of Choctaw, Tina Mohr and husband David of Choctaw and Jo Sitts and husband Bobby of Harrah; two sisters, Pat Hogoboom and husband Bart of El Dorado, Kan. and Jackie Chestnut and husband Robert of Barryington, Kan.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.



Mildred Ruth Pursell

Mildred Ruth Pursell, 75, of Midwest City, passed away Dec. 31, 2006. She was born May 3, 1931 to Frank and Ruby Cryer in Madill. She married Floyd Pursell on Nov. 17, 1951. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd Pursell. She is survived by five sons, Eddie and wife Debbie of Midwest City, Ronnie and wife Becky of McLoud, Larry and wife Judy of Midwest City, Terry and wife Debbie of Midwest City, and David and wife Diane of Midwest City; three daughters, Vicky and husband Brad Brand of Midwest City, Teresa Rowaichi of Midwest City, and Debbie and husband Brian Thurmond of Midwest City; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many friends. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.



John Reed

John Reed, 79, passed away Jan. 1, 2007. He was born April 7, 1927 to Ed and Agnes (Carney) Reed. John married Irene (Little) Reed in Ft. Smith, AR on February 23, 1952. He served in the Navy during WWII and retired from Tinker in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Irene; two sons: John D. and Coy D.; three daughters: Debra Kelley, Dara Webb, and Dian McClanahan; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Harris of McAlester; and many nieces, nephews and others. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Services were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
