Find family recipes at Noodle House

By Aaron Wright, Sun Editor
The Sunday Sun

The Noodle House is home to Vietnamese and Chinese family recipes. This new Del City restaurant features Vietnamese and Chinese dishes.

Owner Alex Chang opened the restaurant on July 7. He said he chose Midwest City because of the military families. He figured with all the traveling they take part in, they would be more willing to try dishes from foreign countries. He said that Vietnamese dishes are trendy in big cities like New York and the trend is moving to the Oklahoma City region. Chang wanted to be part of it.

Their most popular items are grilled pork and chicken. Spring rolls are also widely ordered. Vietnamese soup, Pho, is what the restaurant is really known for.

Pho is a Vietnamese beef rice noodle soup garnished with white and green onions and cilantro. It is served with a side of fresh bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno and lime. Chang said that most people order the brisket and lean meat soup.

Other unique menu items include fried tofu and fried squid. The restaurant also boasts a full selection of Bubble Teas with flavors ranging from avocado to honey dew to red bean to papaya to Thai tea to watermelon. Tapioca pearls and fresh fruits can be added for $.50.

Chang serves as the Vietnamese chef. There is also a chef to prepare the Chinese food. He said that both chefs can make dishes upon request.

The menu also has several meals for vegetarians. Most dishes are priced below $10, with appetizers starting at $2.50. The most expensive dishes are sesame and garlic shrimp at $12.50.

There is also a banquet room available upon request that can hold up to 30 customers.

Chang had previously tried his luck with a sushi restaurant in Bricktown called Club Raw. He said the club part of the establishment began to take over the restaurant part so he changed course.

His wife has family in Arizona that own a similar restaurant to Noodle House. Chang said that most of the Vietnamese recipes come from his wife’s aunt.

The Noodle House is located at 203 S. Sooner Road in Del City. For more info., visit www.phonoodlehouse.com or call 702-9740.
