Expect fires this weekend

By Aaron Wright, editor
The Sun

Don’t call the fire department this weekend if you see flames bursting from the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center. The school will be holding a night flame beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Erick Reynolds, assistant superintendent for the fire training center at EOC Tech, said that this is a unique opportunity for firefighters and volunteer firefighters to practice battling a fire when it’s dark. Usually, training is only offered during the day.

Reynolds said the practice is open to the public who want to learn more about how firefighters handle situations.

“It’s just an opportunity for the public to come and see some of the fires we deal with,” he said.
