‘Speechless, excited, shocked’

The cure for senioritis came in the form of graduation ceremonies for Mid-Del high school seniors Saturday and Choctaw High School seniors Monday.

  • Already reading, Highland Park preschoolers hit the books
    The better the reader, the easier school will be.
    One class of Highland Park Elementary School pre-kindergarten students are going to have it a little easier than others, now that they can read.

    Traub Elementary School, for example, already posts a character creed and rewards students who emulate it with “character bucks.”

    The fourth year of high school can be tense for students whose eyes are constantly fixed on post-high school concerns.
    Seniors meet with their counselors and talk about what they want to do with their lives.
  •  Veggies, fruit take the cake; Choctaw wins $10,000 grant
    What would you do with $10,000?
    Choctaw Elementary School received a check in that amount Friday and will use the money to purchase fresh local produce and encourage healthier eating habits on the part of students.
  •  Harrah choirs come on strong; concert planned
    A Thursday concert at Harrah Middle School will culminate a year of triumphs for the Harrah High-Junior High and Harrah Middle School choirs.
  •  Mid-Del group salutes longtime teachers
    After 43 years of teaching at the same school, Earl Gentry is retiring.
    Gentry was among a host of teachers and patrons recognized at a National Teacher Day ceremony put on by the Mid-Del Association of Classroom Teachers.
